Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
